Let’s step into the world of subject drawing. A vase is a good starting point for beginners because it features simple symmetrical shapes: A circle and a triangle.
It should take no more than 8 minutes to draw a vase and 5 minutes to color it.
Let’s get started!
Step 1: Set two opposite points and draw a line to form the top of the vase

Step 2: Add the neck

Step 3: Trace out the shape of the shoulders
Step 4: Narrow the body of the vase.
Step 5: Connect the base of the vase.

Step 6: Add a second line to the neck of the vase.
Step 7: Sketch in a design or a logo

I decided to draw the body of a guitar and attach it to a cross board and nails
Step 8: Crosshatch one side of the vase for contrast.

Apply light shade to the opposite side at the base of the vase.
Step 9: Crosshatch an additional layer of shadow to darken the neck of the vase.
The result

Now was that fun! Subject drawing consists of size and dimensions. Study patterns and you will start to notice combinations you can duplicate.
